Here's our cancellation, refund, and rain policy for public climbs:
If you need to reschedule or cancel your climb, you can do so up to a week before the climb at no cost. If you need to cancel or reschedule between 1 and 6 days before the climb, half of the cost of the climb will be refunded. Sorry, we can't provide a refund for no-shows or day-of-climb cancellations.

If I cancel the climb due to inclement weather or other reason, I will do everything I can to reschedule you for another climb that works in your schedule so that you don't miss out on a great opportunity. If we can't find a time to reschedule you, then we will give you a full refund. We will generally climb in a light rain if it is not also too cold, but climbs will be cancelled for heavy rain or if thunder is heard.
Click here to read a copy of the waiver that each climber or their parent/guardian must sign in order to climb.
We also offer private climb experiences for individuals, group, schools, businesses - anyone who wants to climb!

There are 3 trees where we hold most of our climbs.  Get to know each one of our magnificent climbing trees below:

"Willie" the Willow Oak.  Willie has been watching over the happenings on the Blackwood Farm just south of the village of Hillsborough for at least 100 years.  He stands between two large farm fields and from his crown climbers can see old hay fields, wooded rolling hills, the family lake, and the historic farm buildings.  The old carriage road between Hillsborough and Chapel Hill used to run right in front of Willie.  A few years back the Blackwood Family gave the homestead to the town of Hillsborough for a park which has aptly been named Blackwood Farm Park.  It's fun for me to wonder how many Blackwood family kids and grandkids have scampered around in Willie's arms.

Willie's Stats:
Genus and Species: Quercus phellos
Height: 85 feet tall
Average Crown Spread: 82 feet
Trunk Circumference: 11 feet, 5 inches
Address: 4215 NC-86, Chapel Hill, NC 27514

"Karo" the Pecan Tree.  Karo lives in the heart of downtown Hillsborough a stones throw from the historic courthouse, the district attorney's office, the Eno River, Weaver Street Market, and the Hillsborough Farmer's Market.  This park, now called River Park, was once a bustling neighborhood. The tree line of the main road is still visible and many a child and adult undoubtedly gathered pecans from beneath Karo's crown for holiday pies and other treats.

Karo's Stats:
Genus and Species: Carya illinoinensis
Height: 108 feet tall
Average Crown Spread: 117 feet
Trunk Circumference: 12 feet, 6 inches
Address: 144 E Margaret Ln, Hillsborough, NC 27278

"Family Tree".  The Family Tree is an open grown white oak on the picturesque grounds of the old UNC Country Club.  The property was purchased a number of years ago by a local church who is kind enough to allow us to climb the tree.
Family Tree's Stats:
Genus and Species: Quercus alba
Height: 65 feet tall
Average Crown Spread: 74 feet
Trunk Circumference: 10 feet, 0 inches
Address: 400 Country Club Road, Chapel Hill, NC
